Le Suquet
If you walk up the slopes of Mont Chevalier, you enter the old pittoresque city of Cannes: Le Suquet. Discover a magnificent panorama of 60m above sea level: the whole city at your feet with Cannes bay and the Lerins Islands in front of you. Descend to the marché Forville via the narrow pedestrians alleys. This is a covered market with fresh fish, vegetables, fruits and flowers. You can smell the Provence!
The Lérins Islands
Walk along the quay St Pierre and watch the colorful boats and fishermen bringing in their nets. At the pier Albert Edouard you can see the most beautiful yachts in the world. We really recommend to take a trip to the Lérins Islands from the port: Ile Ste Marguerite and Ste Honorat island are reachable by ferry in 20 minutes.
La Croisette
La Croisette is one of the most famous boulevards in the world with beautiful flowers and palm trees. Follow the boulevard and walk along the Palais des Festivals and the luxury boutiques towards the famous Carlton Hotel, the symbol of luxury, built in rococo style. Then turn left and walk through the Rue de Canada to the chic shopping street Rue d'Antibes and Rue Meynadier.
Festival de Cannes
Each year the rich and famous descend on Cannes every May for the world's most famous film festival: Festival de Cannes. Cannes has been thé place for film 70 years now. Enjoy the glamour along the red carpet at Palais des Festivals. Because of the many festivals and conferences taking place in Cannes, there is a wide choice of good restaurants. We recommend the Italian restaurant 'Da Laura', located behind the Rue d'Antibes. But 'Vega Luna', a trendy beach restaurant opposite the Carlton hotel is very popular with the Cannois also. In Le Suquet 'Le Mantle' also seems to be a good restaurant.
Boater lovers have plenty of options, you can rent a sailboat or yacht at the harbor. And of course you can enjoy the Régates Royales which is held every year, a must for sailing enthusiasts. For children it is nice to walk along La Croisette, to enter the carousel or to eat an ice cream. The large amusement parks can be found in Antibes, like Antibes Land Park and Marineland Dolphinarium with a large pool and wild-west-park.
Golf courses
In Cannes you will find the 27-hole course of Golf Old Course Cannes-Mandelieu. The 18-hole courses of Golf Country Club Cannes Mougins and the Golf De Saint Donat in Grasse are also very popular among golfers.
Juan-Les-Pins
Within easy driving distance of Cannes you can find the most fashionable resort of Juan-Les-Pins, where the rich and famous stay in summer. Enjoy the famous Jazz À Juan festival in July. Nearby Antibes you will find the largest marina on the Côte d'Azur and the Musée Picasso in the studio of Chateau Grimaldi with a permanant exposition of Nicolas Staëhl.
Inland you can visit the medieval mountain villages Les Adrets and Mougins. From here you have a magnificent view over the bay of Cannes, the Lérins Islands, Grasse and the Alps. Thanks to the beautiful light and colors many famous artists have painted in Mougins. The village is still closely linked with the artistic and cultural world. Go visit the Musée de l'Art!
